Australian Survey Reveals the Treatments Aussie Cougars Use to Stay Looking Young

Templestowe, VIC, March 18, 2010 -- A recent survey of survey shows that More than one third (37%) of Australian women over the age of 40 are looking to date a man at least 10 years younger them and they’re going to great lengths in order to do so. As Courtney Cox hits Australian TV screens in US smash hit Cougar Town, the survey of 1321 women from the Victorian Cosmetic Institute reveals the procedures our silver haired sirens are willing to undergo to in order to date younger men. The most popular cosmetic procedure for more than a third (334%) of those over the age of 40 is liposuction treatments, followed by face lifts for 17% of respondents and laser hair removal(16%). However, leading cosmetic surgeon Dr Terri Labberton reveals the real body clues that can stop a cougar dead in her tracks. “Rather than lipo-suction or a face lift, women over 40 are better off focusing on sagging elbows and sun spots if they want to bag a younger man.” Women between the ages of 30 - 50 represent 80% of the clientele at the Victorian Cosmetic Institute and according to Dr Labberton, many seek consultation for a new look following a divorce or break up. She says: “It’s amazing how many ‘would-be’ Cougars visit the surgery, looking to take years off themselves in order to attract a younger model. Many say they still feel like they’re in their 20s, so want a body and a man to reflect that feeling.” According to the findings, the tummy is the most hated part of the body for over one in two women over the age of 40 (54%), followed by thighs (14%), buttocks (7%) and breasts (7%). A nurse from who admits to being 48 years of age, turned to cosmetic surgery treatments in order to attract and date men in their 30s. Her biggest concern was her elbows, she says, “I know I look at least half my age, and people tell me so all the time. I was worried about the tell tale signs that good diet and lucky genes can’t hide. That’s why I got my elbows lasered to tighten up the skin and disguise any clues to my real age” The survey of 1321 Australian women was conducted by the Victorian Cosmetic Institute in January 2010.
