San Francisco, CA March 1, 2010--Rather than stress out Arianne Goodman saw this as her opportunity to make her dream come true. Once she had graduated from UCSC and spent a year abroad in France as well as Chile, she applied to the nations only Court of Master Sommelier approved wine program. After excelling in the program and earning her credential as a certified sommelier, she took jobs in the wine industry in San Francisco. With a few years under her belt the economy took a turn for the worse and she found herself jobless and hard pressed to find another. Rather than despair, Arianne saw this as her opportunity to go after her dreams. She decided to couple her two passions and areas of expertise and developed Gears and Grapes Getaways, an extremely specialized wine and cycling vacation. Her tours are impeccably planned and take people on 3 day excursions through wine country via bicycle. She has hand selected some of the best wineries, hotels, and restaurants Napa and Sonoma have to offer as well as some of the most beautiful bicycling. Her trips are arranged so that wine lovers can meet the vintners and taste rare and exclusive wines. The small intimate groups and special attention paid to guests are part of what set this tour apart from others. Although bicycling is her preferred way to travel through wine country, her company does accommodate people who are interested in a more leisure vacation.
