Jobless claimant count reaches 13-year high By Brian Groom, Business and Employment Editor A sharp rise in people claiming jobseekers’ allowance overshadowed a slight fall in the jobless total on Wednesday, indicating that further increases in joblessness are likely to lie ahead.
