ACTOR ALEX FERRIS SET TO APPEAR IN TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX FILMS’ DIARY OF A WIMPY KID

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 16, 2010)â€' Canadian actor Alex Ferris is set to appear as “Collin” alongside Zachary Gordon, Chloe Moretz, Steve Zahn, Rachael Harris, and Robert Capron in Twentieth Century Fox Films’ DIARY OF A WIMPY KID, premiering March 19, 2010. Adapted from the New York Times bestselling “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series by Jeff Kinney, the film follows the adventures of middle school student Greg Heffley and his misfit friends. The hazards of growing up are uniquely revealed through words and drawings, as Greg records them in his diary.
Of working on DIARY OF A WIMPY KID, Ferris says, “Being on set of the film was such a fantastic experience. It is probably one of my favorite projects I have ever worked on; all the actors were my age, which was so cool. They even made the set kid friendly, one of the producers brought NERF guns for us to play with and the items on the lunch menu were burgers and other kid-type foods. I hope that fans of the book will come out and see the film!”
Ferris, a two-time Young Artists Award nominee received great buzz in the entertainment industry for his portrayal of “Young Henry” in the New Line Cinema film THE TIME TRAVELERS WIFE, which was released in August 2009. With more than 15 films and 14 television shows under his belt, he has become one of the most watched emerging actors in the business. In addition to DIARY OF A WIMPY KID and THE TIME TRAVELERS WIFE, Ferris has been seen in films such as THE FIVE PEOPLE YOU MEET IN HEAVEN, RV, THE INVISIBLE for Disney, X:MEN: THE LAST STAND, RUNAWAY VACATION, MEMORY and Brett Ratner’s sci-fi epic X3. He has also excelled in television, booking recurring and guest star roles on the following series: Showtime’s THE L WORD, TERMINAL CITY, HARPERS ISLAND, STARGATE SGI, SMALLVILLE, ZIXX: LEVEL III, MASTERS OF HORROR II, and SUPERNATURAL.
