Step down transformers are electrical devices that change power via coupling. The primary winding is connected to the power source and the other windings are known as secondary windings. If the secondary voltage wire is less than the primary wire, the transformer is called a step down transformer. If the secondary wiring is of higher voltage, the transformer is a step-up transformer, which increases voltage input.
