This release offers a general view of the purpose of guitar exercises and how you should treat them. There are already numerous exercises said to improve your guitar playing, so Hober Smith encourages you to create your own exercises.

'I encourage you to create your own exercises, usually you can copy parts of songs that sound cool or use variations from the exercises you already know. Why should you create your own exercises? For one thing you're the one who should know best what you can and can't do and also guitar greats develop their songs based on the exercises they created.” Hober said.

The purpose of this release is to broaden your view and enhance your creative ability while still improving your technique. The author speaks about the different views of the beginner and advanced guitar player which constitute as follows: the beginner guitar player will practice the exercises he reads about on the internet, or the ones his teacher tells him to practice in order to improve his technique, while the advanced player will play more complex variations(scales, arpeggios and others) to help his vision on the guitar for fast and precise playing.

It becomes apparent that there is a distinction between an advanced guitar player and a professional one, as professional guitar players practice their own songs, or the more complicated parts, instead of the usual exercises. After mastering your movement on the fretboard and your coordination between your hands it is no longer necessary to practice the same exercises, playing songs is enough.

The author also speaks about the standard position while playing the guitar. Hober doesn't say which is best, only what they're supposed to communicate. A flamenco guitarist is proud and imposing, while an electric guitarist looks to be mean and threatening. You can figure the type of player just by watching his position at the guitar, as well as his skill level if you know where to look.

A sharp connection between the pinky and the ring fingers(when he moves the ring finger the pinky automatically follows) indicates a not so powerful technique, and you will witness that guitarist struggle with chords and faster scales and progressions. A distinct and elegant movement of the fingers is characteristic to a firm grip of technique.

There are numerous other things to know about guitar exercises. For more information visit Guitar Exercises
