These celebs have made their mark in the poker world after winning entries to these big tourneys from online poker websites. There are also the unsung heroes and heroines of the felt â€' the professional poker and casino dealers, hosts and even the lassies that bring you the drinks in the casinos of the world. Poker is entertainment and entertainment is big and is cache the world over. Especially now when poker has made it big in the online world and there are a host of new celebs piling up in that section of the felt. Few people who are behind the scenes of this exciting and pulsating industry are known. For instance, few know the men and women from the online poker industry â€' the actual men and women who make things happen there â€' who are responsible in pioneering the online poker industry boom into a 15 billion dollar juggernaut. While doing a story on the glamorous, sexy women in poker today, I chanced upon the fact that a lot of these women are little known or they prefer to keep a low profile â€' these sexy, behind-the-scenes, corporate savvy decision makers of whom we know so less about. Here then is the story of Angelina Wang, better known among her friends and in the gaming industry as Lina Wang. It is a truly inspiring story of a girl born to simple Chinese parents in the small time province of Shandong in China who overcame all odds to rise to a major player and a glamorous decision maker in the backend of the world of online poker and gaming. Lina Wang finished her basic schooling in the local schools of Shandong province and then enrolled as an art student at a popular art school. She wanted to become a painter and would have been a promising one in the art too, but her budding career and dreams were cut short due to a family tragedy when she lost her navy officer father in a major naval mishap. Being the sole bread winner in a family of three, she chose to move on to the glam world of Hong Kong and Shanghai as a ramp model and modeled a range of popular products for a two-year stint since the tender age of 16. From then on, moving on to popular local and national television shows as an anchor and later producer was on the cards till she decided to go back and study, so she took a break from work and went and pocketed a management degree from one of the country’s top institutions. Brief experience spells in a construction company and television again eventually led to an interview with Robert Border, President of Cybertech International â€' the Asian online gaming software biggie and Lina Wang was hired on the spot to fill in the post of Business Development Assistant Manager. Two years later, she heads the department and is a Vice President in a company that is about to go public soon and is touted to emerge among the major players in the global market. Lina Wang is popularly known among her circle as “The Poker Princess” and shuttles between her head office in Hong Kong and her R & D facilities in various locations in Asia and Europe. She juggles her family life with a passion for her work and the game of poker that she champions through her work and her writings on several popular blogs and social avenues. She plays live poker whenever she can make the time for it on trips to Macau and in local games in Hong Kong and elsewhere and plays online on a few of the popular online poker sites whenever she finds the time. Lina Wang is not your typical accomplished poker diva that you would find sponsored by top online poker sites, but her love for her game is reflected in the quality software she helps to pioneer from within her company. With China emerging as a major player in the online gaming industry, and Asia as a whole poised to become a huge hub for the industry’s future, voices like Lina Wang’s are going to be heard more and more.
