Las Vegas Tribute Brothers Bring Audience to Attention Saluting Veterans of the Greatest Generation
Elvis Kelly and Michael Carluccio joined forces with the Optimist International Foundation donating their talent and time Friday evening to raise money for the Childhood Cancer Campaign.
The annual Tastefest and “Reindeer Games” fund raiser was hosted by the Clinton Township Area Optimist Club at the Mirage Banquet Hall. Kelly and Michael are proud to join the Optimist International. They have provided the entertainment for this fund raising event many times. In their future Las Vegas Tribute Shows, the dynamic duo will remind the audiences to donate to causes that support cancer research.
Kelly and Carluccio, both local Michigan veteran and talented performers, brought their Las Vegas Tribute Brothers show to metro Detroit audiences this fall that features a medley of renown Las Vegas super stars: Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Neil Diamond, Paul Anka, Tom Jones and others.
Local entertainment producer and music critic, Dennis Nazelli, claims that Michigan audiences are in for, “… a refreshing treat when the Las Vegas Tribute Show hits local stages.” “First of all, the price of admission for their dinner show is affordable.” Some critics use this as an excuse just to refuse to offer their reviews. “But before their first wardrobe change, even the harshest of critics put aside the notion that these guys are amateurs at a Capuchin Soup Kitchen.”
Kelly has performed in over 750 shows during his 23-year career in entertainment. His range for the Elvis tribute begins in the 50’s, the “Army Years,” the 60’s and the “Vegas” 70’s. “The crowd’s sentimental favorite is Kelly doing Elvis Presley,” confessed Michael. “What can I say? He’s the ‘King.’”
As the “King of Rock ‘n Roll,” Elvis Kelly’s side of the stage is in stark contrast to Michael’s balladdeering. Besparkled in radiant sequins, the King of Rock ‘n Roll’s costumes leave nothing to the imagination for the star-struck crowds. “The king of the Elvis Presley impersonators then shakes it up for his standing and frenzied audiences.”
Known as the 1-Man Legend Show, Carluccio’s favorite presentation is his “Rat Pack” exhibition of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, complete with banter between himself and the audience. However, before his favorite shtick, it’s not unusual for Michael to get the entire audience warmed up with a Tom Jones music number followed by a medley of Neil Diamond and Paul Anka hits.
Along with their talent, the one factor that drives audiences to beg for more is their contact with their admirers during their show. “I love performing outside of Las Vegas,” blushed Michael. “In Vegas, they don’t allow us to get out and into the audience. Here our singing goes beyond the eyes and ears; it gets inside and touches their hearts.”
Carluccio’s schmaltzy sentiment may seem a bit over-dramatic. Yet, the Las Vegas Tribute Brothers’ presentation depends on that high voltage connection with the audience.
