Los Arqueros - Taylor Woodrows Development Complete
The development of Los Arqueros sits in the Benahavis mountains and is home to a Seve Ballesteros designed golf course winding its way through the rugged countryside. Within this area there are many apartment developments and individual villas the majority of which are constructed by Taylor Woodrow España, the publicly traded companies Spanish arm.
There original masterplan for Los Arqueros is now drawing to a close with many great apartments constructed and land sold for a commercial centre that will house bars, restaurants and a large brand supermarket. Now all completed the sale office still remains, trying to sell the last few properties that are still on their books. Soon enough they will be leaving this site, safe in the knowledge they have created a great environment for those people who purchased from one of their many developments.
Although now Taylor Woodrows share price has improved considerably, everything hasn´t been plain sailing for this company. When the banking crises inititally emerged, there were massive concerns about the financial stability of the company. Banking covenents had to be re-negotiated and there was a period when confidence in the company plummeted and millions were wiped off from their market capitalization.
With this now firmly in the past the CEO can concentrate on winding up Spanish operations and looking towards the future. They are a major land owner in the UK and will use this to their advantage when the current inertia seen is the housing market disappears. The UK is starting to see an increase in house prices and although it is definitely too early to celebrate Taylor Woodrow will no doubt make the most of the market.
