Regular readers know that my hero is James Madison, a founding father whose contribution to the nation is in inverse proportion to the nation's recognition of that contribution. Rightly is he called the 'father of the Constitution' and 'chief architect' of the Bill of Rights, two of the three documents - Thomas Jefferson's Declaration of Independence is the third - on which our nation is founded.
