Grandsons gift Family legacy lives on in Clementine Hunter artwork The Lafayette Daily Advertiser
Clementine Hunter has been called Louisiana's most famous folk artist. Some of Hunter's 4,000 paintings about early 20th century life on north Louisiana's Melrose Plantation have landed in the Smithsonian Institute, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Oprah Winfrey Collection in Chicago and other collections and museums around the country.
