I enjoy smoking but realize that for health reasons, I need to stop. I have lots of incentives, you are one more. If you let me know I will stop with you. I will have to go cold turkey. I've tried everything. The only time I was successful was when I went cold turkey. No cheating. I promise. AND, THIS TIME I WILL NOT START BACK NO MATTER WHAT. Let me know girl, I've got your back. I don't want are need anything but support from a friend and to support someone who is as serious as I am. Again,I support you. By the way I am a fan and love you much. I sure hope you receive this 'E'. I really think we could go the extra mile and get this done, together. If he could stop smoking with this pill, anyone can, belive me. I saw the View this morning, and although those 'tricks of the trade' my work or maynot work. I think you should never give up. Today is the eighth anniversery of my quitting smoking. Oct29, 1999 was my first clean day. Boy was it hard. I quit 'cold turkey'. Every time I went in a store or restruant I could smell people who smoke. I am called smoke sensitive. I stay away from relatives who smoke cause the smell makes me nausaus. But I would never lite up again because I am afraid that if I did I would die. Dear, Dear Lady I wish you success and joy and freedom from the smoking crutch. I pray for you to be successful. Your work is so important to those of us out here in the world. I raised 3 daughters here - they went to Brooklyn Elementary - maybe the same classes with your daughter. I've told the story to my daughters and friends, how you used to walk up Beech Street, about 20 years old, your hair a very eccentric Methuselah hair style, whistling this eerie, beyond jazz, melody, realllllly loud. Whereas you are a very outgoing individual, I was very shy, and used to watch out the window,every time thinking, wow, she is like no one I've ever seen before. Over the years, in all that you did, I thought, wow, she's like no one ever before. Now even as we age and other actress's leave the scene, you're on The View, sitting next to an all time, never ending, wow, Barbara Walters, and I think wow Whoopi, you are still the same, amazing. Tonight when you came on the Tony awards in the Phantom scene, it was so funny. I called my daughter to tell her and when my grand daughter answered, I realized I never told her the story. She just turned 11. She used to love going on stage. Few years back during a dance recital, all the girls were running around a circle & fell over each other. The audience was silent, but Danielle did a Barbara Striesand ta daaaaaa with her arms out and a smile on her face and the audience got a huge laugh. A few years ago in her all white school, they moved some kids of color in (finally), and the whole school did a big show about the flowers and the weeds. She was a weed (she's part hispanic, danish, german, indian, scott, french). She pulled long weeds out of the garden & stuck them in her hair & belt, and sang and danced rapp with another little boy, and she was so hot. In these delicate 11 year old years she's getting a little more quiet. When I told her the story about you tonight, she was amazed -- realllllllly?, she said. When I retire next year I want to take her to Junior Theatre in Balboa Park, to get back on stage. It would be so amazing if you would write something to her. She comes from frustrated artists from many sides in our family. The most successful, her grandfather (my ex) was in the most famous rock band in Mexico and in movies, and me, a cross between you and Barbara Striesand, only to shy to come out. I know this is too long for a sweepstakes thing. The important thing would be if she could get a little spark from you. A little note, a long letter like this.
